What did we do on a lazy Saturday afternoon when we were in high school? Why, head over to Waltz's for a run at the Farm or Castle course! So, what should we do 50 years later? The same thing! Jim Haldeman took care of organizing a group of about nine players who decided that they had graduated to 'real golf'. They got together at Turtle Creek Golf Course (next to Waltz's) for a round of real golf. The three threesomes headed out early in the morning, then got together to enjoy the afternoon until it was time to clean up for the Big Event.
Meanwhile, next door at the miniature golf course... Our classmate Patty (Waltz) Devlin made a couple of phone calls and got us a free round of mini-golf! (Thanks, Pat!) About a dozen of us showed up and literally puttered around the course. We had a blast remembering back to when we were kids and our parents would take us there, then later when we would head there on dates. It was great to see that even though the place has expanded, it still had a lot of the old stuff that we remembered. Some of us grabbed a bite to eat there, while a couple of us headed off to another old standby for a bite... Specks!
